A Pt100 temperature sensor (RTD) uses a platinum element with 100 Ω at 0 °C, giving high accuracy and stability across −196 … +650 °C. ISE supplies Pt100 and Pt1000 sensors in simplex, duplex and triplex versions; 2, 3 and 4-wire; class A, B and 1/3, 1/5, 1/10 DIN; including ATEX/IECEx explosion-proof versions – to the European standard EN 60751.
How a Pt100 temperature sensor works
Platinum resistance rises almost linearly with temperature, about 0.385 Ω/°C: 100 Ω at 0 °C and 138.51 Ω at 100 °C, defined in EN 60751 by the Callendar–Van Dusen equation.

3-wire is the industrial standard; for long cable runs use 4-wire or a head-mounted 4–20 mA temperature transmitter.
