CST-RTD320 Pt100 Temperature Sensor – 316 Stainless Probe

CST-RTD320 Pt100 temperature sensor with 316 stainless probe

The CST-RTD320 Pt100 temperature sensor (RTD probe) features a terminal head and AISI 316 stainless-steel probe, installed directly in pipes or tanks to measure liquid, gas and steam temperature. Available with Pt100 or Pt1000 elements, ranges up to 600 °C and 6 / 8 / 10 mm probe diameters, manufactured to EN 60751 – compatible with any transmitter, temperature controller or PLC.

The 316 stainless steel suits hygienic industries such as pharmaceuticals and food as well as chemical plants. Equipment Industrial Solution Co., Ltd (ISE) supplies the CST-RTD320 with probe length, process connection and range to suit each application.

Key features of the CST-RTD320 Pt100 sensor

  • Pt100 or Pt1000 element to suit the control system.
  • AISI 316 stainless-steel probe and wetted parts – corrosion-resistant for hygienic and chemical service.
  • Terminal head with terminal block – easy wiring and replacement; a 4–20 mA transmitter can be fitted inside.
  • Probe diameters 6, 8, 10 mm and others on request.
  • Three temperature ranges: −70…250 °C, −50…450 °C, −200…600 °C.
  • EN 60751 standard – interchangeable with other brands’ transmitters and controllers.

Applications of Pt100 temperature sensors

  • Pharmaceuticals: mixing tanks, reactors, purified water lines.
  • Chemicals: storage tanks and chemical pipelines (316 stainless for corrosion resistance).
  • Boilers and thermal systems: feedwater, condensate, steam lines, thermal oil.
  • Food, beverage, brewing, dairy: pasteurisation, cooking, cooling.
  • Process temperature monitoring in plants, HVAC and cold storage.

How to choose a Pt100 sensor

  • Pt100 or Pt1000: Pt100 is most common and compatible with most controllers and PLC modules. Pt1000 has higher resistance and is less affected by lead resistance – good for 2-wire or long cables.
  • Range: cover the maximum operating temperature; hot water and low-pressure steam use −70…250 °C; thermal oil and flue gas need higher ranges.
  • Probe length: the tip should be near the centre of the flow; small pipes may use angled or elbow installation.
  • Long-distance signal: fit a CST-HSB4300 temperature transmitter in the head for 4–20 mA output.

FAQ

How does a Pt100 differ from a type K thermocouple?

Pt100 is more accurate and stable below 600 °C. Type K thermocouples reach higher temperatures (about 1200 °C) but are less accurate. For water, steam, oil and general chemicals, Pt100 is the best choice.

Does a Pt100 have a 4–20 mA output?

A Pt100 is a resistance that changes with temperature. For 4–20 mA, add a head transmitter or choose the CST-CPT 4-20mA temperature sensor with integrated electronics.
