CST-MDP Low Differential Pressure Transmitter for Cleanrooms & HVAC

CST-MDP low differential pressure transmitter for cleanrooms and HVAC

The CST-MDP low differential pressure transmitter measures very small air pressure differences from ±50 Pa to ±10,000 Pa with 4–20 mA or 0–10 VDC output and optional RS485 Modbus RTU / BACnet MS/TP. It is ideal for cleanroom pressure monitoring, duct static pressure, air filter monitoring and fan control in HVAC systems.

Features include a local zero button, selectable response time, overpressure up to 15× range and a compact 140 g flame-retardant UL94-V0 housing. Equipment Industrial Solution Co., Ltd (ISE) supplies the CST-MDP in all ranges and helps you choose the right range for your application.

Advantages of the CST-MDP differential pressure sensor

  • Accurate very-low DP measurement, smallest range 0~±50 Pa – for cleanrooms and positive/negative pressure rooms.
  • Selectable outputs: 0–5/10 VDC or 4–20 mA.
  • Optional RS485 Modbus RTU or BACnet MS/TP for direct BMS integration.
  • One-touch zero calibration with LED confirmation.
  • Adjustable response time 0.5 / 1 / 2 / 4 s – damps pressure fluctuations from fans and doors.
  • High overpressure tolerance up to 15× rated range.
  • Flame-retardant UL94-V0 industrial plastic housing, compact and light (140 g).
  • Wide operating temperature, extended version down to −40 °C.

Wiring, communication and calibration

  • Voltage output 0–5/10 VDC: 3-wire per terminal label.
  • Current output 4–20 mA: 2-wire, non-polarised – can be wired either way.
  • RS485: Modbus RTU (function 0x03 read, 0x06 write) or BACnet MS/TP; register map supplied with the protocol document.
  • Field zero: apply equal pressure to (+) and (−) ports, press the zero button, LED confirms.

Applications of low differential pressure transmitters

  • Cleanrooms, operating theatres, negative-pressure isolation rooms, pharmaceutical and electronics plants.
  • Duct static pressure and supply/exhaust fan VFD control in HVAC.
  • Air filter monitoring for AHUs, FCUs and dust collectors.
  • Building pressure monitoring and stairwell pressurisation.
  • Furnace draft / combustion chamber pressure for boilers and dryers.
  • Energy management, building automation (BMS) and medical equipment.

FAQ

Can the CST-MDP measure water or liquids?

No – it is for air and inert gases only. For liquid, steam or DP level measurement see the CST305X-DPT differential pressure transmitter.

What range should I choose for a cleanroom?

Cleanroom pressure differences are typically 5–30 Pa, so a 0~±50 Pa or 0~±100 Pa range gives the best resolution.

What range for AHU filter monitoring?

Filter pressure drop is usually a few hundred Pa; 0–500 Pa or 0–1000 Pa is suitable.
