A continuous water level sensor for boilers is a capacitive probe rated PN 40 (32 bar at 238 °C), screwed G ¾ A to ISO 228, giving 4–20 mA to control the feedwater valve or pump VFD. It keeps the water level steady and avoids low water and batch feeding – in line with European EN 12953-6 and EN 12953-9.

Capacitive level measurement in boilers

The probe sits in the boiler or an external level chamber; capacitance changes with water level and becomes 4–20 mA for continuous feedwater control – see boiler feedwater control. Low-water shutdown must use separate, independent level limiters.
